This course is accredited by the Pilates Place, which is an approved training centre for YMCA courses and is recognised and insured by Balens.co.uk.
This qualification recognises the skills, knowledge and competence required of an individual to work in an unsupervised capacity: planning, instruction and evaluating the safety and effectiveness of a Pilates equipment session.
This course comprises of five units including;
Unit 1: Exercise and Fitness Knowledge
Unit 2: Principles and Fundamentals of Equipment Pilates
Unit 3: Safety and good practise
Unit 4: Plan and Prepare to Instruct a Progressive Equipment Pilates Session
Unit 5: Instruct, Manage, Adapt and Evaluate an Equipment Pilates Session
Level 3 Diploma in Matwork Pilates
Candidates who take the Pilates Studio course will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of the following broad areas;
Basic principles of Equipment Pilates on the Cadillac, Reformer, Combo Chair and Ladder Barrel (can be done separately)
Safety and good practise on all equipment
How to plan, teach and evaluate an equipment Pilates session
How to progress a programme of equipment Pilates exercises
Unit 1: Assessment 1 - Externally Assessed Theory Paper
Unit 2: Assessment 2 - Internally Assessed Worksheets
Unit 3: Assessment 3 - Internally Assessed Lesson Plan
Unit 4: Assessment 4 - Postural Analysis Worksheet
