The Foundation Course or the Diploma?
The Pilates Foundation Course is for you if you are relatively new to Pilates and not sure if teaching Pilates is what you really want to do. The course covers the basic principles of Pilates and Anatomy and Physiology, to give you a deeper understanding of the technique. Successful completion of this course will allow you to make an informed decision about embarking on the Pilates Matwork Diploma Course which is the teacher training qualification.
The Pilates Matwork Diploma is an intensive teacher training course that leads to a nationally and internationally recognised qualification. This course concentrates on developing teaching skills and building personal confidence. The theory part of the course can be completed on line but you must attend the practical sessions to learn the Pilates repertoire, exercise modifications and lesson planning.
Interested in teaching Pilates for mums-to-be?
Pre and Post-Natal Pilates is designed for those who wish to teach Pilates to women during pregnancy. This course is based on adapting Pilates exercises for pregnancy only. It is a short course, the theory part can be completed on line but you must attend the practical sessions and an assessment. The entry requirement for this course is a current Pilates Matwork Diploma.
Teaching Studio Pilates?
This qualification recognises the skills,
knowledge and competence required of an individual to work in an
unsupervised capacity: planning, instruction and evaluating the safety
and effectiveness of a Pilates equipment session. The entry requirement for this course is a current Pilates Matwork Diploma.
Working with clients who have specific medial needs?
Exercise on Referral is aimed at qualified fitness professionals who wish to learn how to provide assistance/advice and design exercise programmes for people with certain medical conditions which put their health at risk. The entry requirement for this course is a current Pilates Matwork Diploma.
